Return and Refund Policy

At Scandal Bakes, we take great pride in the quality and freshness of our baked goods. Because our products are perishable, our return and refund policies differ from standard retail items.

1. Non-Returnable Items (Perishables)
Under UK consumer law, perishable goods such as food items are exempt from the standard 14-day cooling-off period. Therefore, for health, safety, and hygiene reasons, we do not accept returns or exchanges on any of our baked goods simply because you have changed your mind.

2. Damaged or Faulty Goods
We want you to be completely satisfied with your Scandal Bakes experience. If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, or you believe the quality is compromised (i.e., faulty), you are entitled to a resolution.

  • Timeframe: You must contact us within 24 hours of receiving your delivery or collecting your order.
  • Proof: Please email us at info@scandalbakes.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photographic evidence of the item and its packaging.
  • Resolution: Once we assess the issue and if we are found to be at fault, we will offer a replacement, store credit, or a full/partial refund to your original payment method. Please note that taste and texture are subjective, and we cannot offer refunds based on personal preference.

3. Order Cancellations
Because our bakes are made to order, we require sufficient notice for cancellations:

  • Orders can be cancelled for a full refund if requested before our weekly baking prep begins. Please email us immediately if you need to cancel.
  • Once the weekly order cut-off has passed and baking has commenced, we are unable to cancel or refund your order.
  • Uncollected local orders (at Al Forno Restaurant) will be held for a maximum of 24 hours. Due to freshness standards, uncollected items will be disposed of after this period and will not be refunded.

4. Delayed or Missing Parcels
If your postal order has not arrived within the estimated delivery window, please check your tracking information and contact us. While we cannot guarantee courier transit times, we will work with you to resolve issues regarding significantly delayed or lost parcels.

5. Receiving Your Refund
If a refund is approved, it will be processed automatically to your original method of payment. Please remember it can take some time (typically 3-5 business days) for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund to your account.
